Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) yesterday filed two separate cases against 49 BNP men in connection with Thursday’s clash in front of party office over the graft case court verdict that handed BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia five years jail. Jashim Uddin, Officer in Charge of Kotwali thana, said that one of the cases was filed under Anti-Terrorism Act while another for attacking police in front BNP Nasimon Bhaban office.Dr Shahdat Hossain, president of Chittagong city unit BNP, is among the accused, reports BSS.
The clash led to 16 injured, including five police personnel, at party office Nasiman Bhaban in the Chittagong’s Kazir Dewri area.Kotwali thana police arrested 15 BNP activities, including Dr Shahdat, in this connection.
