Standing Parliamentary Members’ Committee from Ministry of Shipping sat for a parliamentary meeting with the cabinet, on Thursday. They proposed of creating a separate & special court for the implementation of Riven Pollution Preventing Laws. Committee President Maj. Rafiqul Islam Bir Uttam led the seminar. Including Minister of Shipping Shajahan Khan, all the committee members were present at the event.
The committee presented specific propositions to the cabinet for the cause. They suggested, ceasing the possession of rivers. Then, closing the industries responsible for polluting environment, by the Ministry of Environment & Forests.
The committee also discussed about the current projects & activities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) & National River Protection Commission. They also suggested the cabinet to inspect the BIWTA capability about the on-hand projects. Then, take fast initiations for buying the necessary tools for implementing those.
