[2] Gonoshastho founder and trustee Zafrullah Chowdhury said, “there is no benefit in playing in the name of democracy. Today’s people must be given a truly humane and just democracy. Everyone should be given the right to speak”.
[3] He said this while participating in a program in front of the National Press Club yesterday afternoon. [4] “There is no way out for us without ensuring exercise of fair and humane democracy,” he said.
“I have the right to do politics and to speak. But I am not allowed to do that”, he added.
[5] He further stated that “incidents like rape are happening in the country because there is no democracy. Rape cannot be stopped by law. The government has failed in everything”.
[6] Zafrullah Chowdhury spoke as the chief guest and the event was chaired by the organization Syed Harun Aur Rashid.
