Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while appreciating the role of Private sectors in promoting the economic development of Bangladesh said that her government is always playing a supportive role to promote this sector. While receiving blankets from commercial banks of private sectors said these. Ihsanul Karim, PM’s press secretary mentioned that about 18 lakhs piece blankets have been donated by 33 commercial banks to PM’s relief and welfare fund. These will be distributed among poor people this winter. The PM expressed her gratefulness to the donators by saying “The bankers always extend their helping hands in necessity”. Almost immediately she guided her officials concerned to distribute the blankets. Poor people in the northern zone of the country and also the in Rohingya Refugee Camp will receive these blankets – reports UNB.The PM said that her government since assuming power put utmost importance for development of the rural areas of the country. It is now working on generating employment opportunities for rural people.She also gave credit to the pragmatic and time befitting programmes of her government as the country’s GDP now stands at 7.28% and the per capita income is at $1,610.
