A common perception of The Illusion of Competence is.
It manipulates people; therefore, it must be bad.Let me be very clear. The Illusion of Competence happens around you everyday, in everything that you do, with or without you.Two people look at the exact same painting. One thinks it’s the most beautiful painting they’ve ever seen. The other wonders why the artist wasted a perfectly good canvas.
What’s the truth?
There is no truth, only the perception of those viewing the painting.
Your boss, your associates, your customers, have perceptions of you, your team, your company everyday.
Some think you are great. Some, not so much. What’s the truth?
There is no truth, only the perceptions of those around you.
Guess what?
The perceptions of those around you are their truths, whether you like them or not.You can bury your head in the sand and pretend this is not the case.Or, you can do something about it, change the perception to your advantage. The Illusion of Competence does not manipulate people. The Illusion manipulates perceptions.
Subconscious perceptions that can be influenced on a conscious level.
Many think I’m crazy.A few think otherwise. What’s the truth?
