It is extremely difficult to portray an image of the circumstances that will occur if the forthcoming parliamentary elections aren’t acceptable to all if all the parties cannot participate in it or aren’t given equal opportunities.
The police tortured BNP activists when Khaleda Zia was arrested. Without permission, we were not allowed to carry out processions or meetings and were even barred from distributing banners and posters. Home meetings were disrupted as well signaling hostility.
The country’s economy is going down hill. Almost all banks have been looted and crores of taka has been laundered. Stock exchange has declined. The finance minister said four million is an insignificant sum of money, but on the other hand, commented how 30 million people are living below the poverty line. The country is set on its journey towards development, but the government’s actions remain self-contradictory.
