[2] District Awami League president and former MP freedom fighter Munsur Ahmed has testified in court in a case of attack on the convoy of the then Opposition Leader of and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Satkhira’s Kolaroa Upazila, reports banglanews24.com. [3] He testified in the court of Satkhira Chief Judicial Magistrate Humayun Kabir yesterday, reports Daily Inqilab. [4] Satkhira District and Sessions Judge’s Court Public Prosecutor Advocate Abdul Latif said, “The testimony of district Awami League president Munsur Ahmed has been presented in court as the 10th witness in the case. However, the defense lawyers refused to cross-examine him.”
Satkhira district Awami League general secretary and district council chairman Nazrul Islam and former office secretary Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid were present in the court while testifying.
Incidentally, on August 30, 2002, the then Leader of the Opposition and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to see a raped woman at Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
On her way back to Dhaka, BNP leaders and activists attacked her convoy in front of the Kolaroa Upazila BNP office at around 11:30am. Former general secretary of Upazila Awami League freedom fighter Moslem Uddin became the plaintiff in the case and filed a case in the court mentioning the names of 27 people including the president of Upazila Juba Dal Ashraf Hossain and 70-75 others.
