India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in Tokyo, Japan for delegation-level talks yesterday.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed an series of bilateral, regional and global issues including the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, reports WION. Earlier, addressing an event, the Indian premier said low-cost manufacturing and labour cost would help India do business while inviting Japanese investment in his country.
Urging the businessmen, he said: “I would also like to invite all of you to speed up investment in India. I assure you that you will be given all possible assistance to help in
strengthening trade relations between India and Japan.”
Modi insisted on greater cooperation with Japan which India’s third largest foreign direct investor, and he added that India was fast moving towards Industry 4.0 powered by AI, IoT, 3D Printing and Robotics.
He reached Japan on an official tour on Saturday to attend the 13th India-Japan annual two-day summit. Other than meeting Abe, Modi also met secretary general Toshihiro Nikai of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and the minister of economy Trade and Industry (METI) Hiroshige Seko.
He also addressed the Indian community in Japan in order to strengthen ties with the expat community and interacted with Japanese entrepreneurs. Modi also met with the governor of Shizuoka province of Japan Heita Kawakatsu.
India’s ministry of Ayush signed a MoU with Kanagawa prefecture to boost healthcare and wellness.
