A Dhaka Court yesterday asked the lawyer of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to explain by October 7 whether it will keep the bail order while she is in jail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case.
Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka passed the order.
The order came after Khaleda’s lawyer submitted a petition seeking extension of her bail in the case.
The court also fixed the same date for hearing arguments.
The BNP chief is now in the jail after she was sentenced to a five-year-imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case since February 8.
