Airlines demand waivers on parked aircrafts, flight operation charges and flight handling

[2] Bangladesh on Tuesday joined a teleconference of civil aviation authorities of 33 Asia and Pacific (APAC) countries for sharing information on the prevailing situation of aviation sector amid Covid-19 pandemic, reports Dhaka Tribune.
[3] Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) chairman Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman addressed the conference and shared the steps aken by the government for aviation sector to contain the outbreak of deadly coronavirus in the region.
[4] Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sought Tk628 crore from the government to bear its operational costs for April as it has been suffering from a severe liquidity crisis following the grounding of its fleet amid the pandemic, reports TBS.
[5] Recently, the national carrier sent a letter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, mentioning its financial distress caused by a suspension of all flight operations, as well as that of other economic activities.
