DOT Desk:[2] The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday served notices to four public servants and four contractors for allegations of acquiring illegal wealth through different irregularities and dubious business dealings,reports Daily Observer. [3] ACC served the notices after their preliminary investigation.
[4] Notices were served to joint chief of Youth and Sports ministry Md. Sajjadul Islam, deputy assistant engineer of circle-4 of public works department Ali Akbar, food inspector of Ghatail in Tangail district Md. Korshed Alam, tax officer of Dhaka South City Corporation Sheikh Kuddus Ahmed, a contractor based in Munshiganj named Moazzem Hossen Sentu, another contractor based in Potiya named Nur Ur Rashid Chowdhury Azad, contractors based in Srinagar-Munshiganj named Zakir Hossen and Abdus Salam. Notices signed by ACC director Syed Iqbal Hossen were sent to their current addresses asking them to submit wealth information to the commission within 21 working days.
ACC insiders said, the anti graft body is currently investigating a list of 200 individuals who are believed to have acquired illegal wealth worth hundreds of crore and involved in money laundering.
