UNB: Four people were killed in separate road crashes in Chapainawabganj and Chattogram districts on Tuesday.
In Chapainawabganj, two motorcyclists, Mizanur Rahman, son of Jalal Uddin, and Moshiur Rahman, son of Salauddin, of Kolail Diyar area of Gomostapur upazila, were killed when a truck rammed their vehicle in Kolyanpur area of the district town at 8:30 am. Sub-inspector Golam Mostafa of Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station said the motorcycle skidded off when a pickup van came in front of it while the rider was trying to overtake a truck around 8:30 am.
Later, the truck rammed the vehicle, leaving the duo dead on the spot.
In Chattogram, two passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed when it turned turtle after being rammed by a lorry at EPZ intersection early in the morning.
One of the deceased was identified as Raju Miah, said Assistant Sub-inspector Md Alauddin Talukder of Chattogram Medical College Police Outpost.
The accident took place when the lorry overturned after its driver lost control over the wheel, leaving two passengers critically injured.
Later, the injured were rushed to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.
