[2] Due to the raw jute crisis, the production wheels of 17 private jute mills in Khulna have come to a standstill.

[4] Farmers in Faridpur, Shariatpur, Jessore and Satkhira have reduced jute production as they have not received the desired price for three consecutive years. Jute production has been affected due to floods. As a result, there was a crisis in the raw jute market. In Daulatpur, the second largest market in the country, jute is being sold at Tk 5,000 instead of Tk 2,400 per ounce. [5] Assistant Director of the Department of Jute Sirajul Islam said, “Private jute mills are finding it difficult to survive”.
