Prime minister’s political adviser H T Imam said General Zia’s multi-party democracy was meant to establish the anti-liberation force in Bangladesh’s politics. HT Imam also said Ziaur Rahman in the name of this multi-party system established those which were all so-called political parties which had president and secretary only, no members. HT Imam, who served as the cabinet secretary in the wartime Mujibnagar government in 1971, said, “I never called Major Zia a freedom fighter, and I’ll will never. He did so many things during liberation war against us. Several times General MAG Osmani tried to get rid of him. And Zia did not lead any operation. All of his operations were led by Colonel Taher. Remembering his gallantry during the liberation war, The PM’s advisor remarked the coup of Major General Khaled Mosharraf after the assassination of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members was attempted against the killers. HT Imam says Khaled Mosharraf had a significant role in liberation war. He established the first field hospital in his sector, which was later implemented in the other sectors of liberation war. Disappointed at the lack of works on Khaled Mosharraf, HT Imam requested the family members of the hero to come up. While pondering upon the events of 1975, the former bureaucrat also held absorption of the repatriated members from Pakistan Army and formation of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal responsible behind the aftermath that followed.
