Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus has been honored with ‘Nuovo Rinascimento’ introduced by Italian Buddhist School Soka Gakkai of Italy. He has been awarded this prize for his efforts to propagate the humanistic philosophy through social business and micro-credit, according to the Buddist Organization.
Over 750 people attended the ceremony which was organized by Soka Gakkai International, which is a community-based Buddhist organization that promotes peace, culture and education centered on respect for the dignity of life.
SGI members uphold the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism in 192 countries and territories around the world.
The ceremony was followed by a press conference around the book of Professor Yunus’s “A World of Three Zeros” which highlights his three key philosophies of Zero Unemployment, Zero Poverty and Zero Net Carbon Emissions.
