Since, new VAT law implementation by Finance Minister Abul Mal Muhit, were halted for 2 years by the PM herself. Upon the request of the business owners. Ministry of Finance & National Board of Revenue (NBR) has agreed on fulfilling VAT shortages via increasing the reach of collecting all sorts of taxes properly. Though, they are dueling on the outcome numbers. New VAT law supposed to earn 91,176 crores taka revenue. Now after halting the law, this new instruction suggests that, 16 thousand crores taka less will be collected. Though, NBR estimates it will be 32 thousand crores taka less. NBR is aiming to bring in all the tax evaders and to collect all their proper dues.
Fortunately, income-tax return collection was estimated to be more than last fiscal-year. Also, import-export tax and other taxes will be aiding the VAT shortage, as planned by the Finance Minister.
Except general goods, most others had 15% VAT over them already. Therefore, there would be few irregularities in the book-structure. But everything will be evened out in time, assures Ministry of Finance.
