BGB has taken stricter stance against the smuggling at the borders. Their patrolling & manpower has been increased as well. But they can’t seemed to totally bring it to halt. Though, recent reports prove that, the rate of smuggling is decreasing.
BGB reports, they have confiscated over 630 crores worth of smuggled drugs, clothes, timber & others, from January to May this year. Again, 115.45 crores worth of goods only in the past month. Most of the smuggled goods are drugs from Yabba, heroine & foreign-liquors etc. 96 were arrested involved in smuggling.
Also, total of 78 border trespassers were caught attempting to cross India-Bangladesh borders. Illegal entering of 180 Myanmar citizens had been prevented at Myanmar-Bangladesh border. All of them were transferred to the responsible authorities.
