Through the colorful “National Legal Aid Day,

“National Legal Aid Day 2024” was celebrated with colorful arrangements. This year the theme of the day is “Smart Legal Aid, Smart Country, Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh”.
District and Sessions Judge (Acting) and Legal Aid Committee Chairman Arun Pal inaugurated the day by flying pigeons and balloons at Bandarban Sessions Judge Court premises on 28th April.
A procession is taken out to mark the day. People of 11 ethnic groups, including Bengalis, participated in the procession wearing traditional clothes.
There were also health service programs and special arrangements for blood grouping in collaboration with the District Civil Surgeon’s Office. After the procession, the significance of the day was discussed in the Bandarban District Judge Court conference room. District and Sessions Judge (Acting) Arun Pal presided over the meeting.
With the sincere efforts of Bangabandhu’s daughter to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream, legal aid is reaching the poor and helpless people all over Bangladesh. All institutions of government are partners in the legal aid programme. This great initiative of the government will be successful with the participation of all. Let this be our pledge on Legal Aid Day 2024.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Mr. Mohammad Mahabubur Rahman, Additional District Magistrate Chai Twaihla Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Police Shah Alam, Bandarban Army Zone Commander Lt. Col. Mahmudul Hasan District Legal Aid Officer (Senior Assistant Judge) Mr. Rokeya Akhtar and others were present.
