 Richard Ragan, WFP Representative and Country Director in Bangladesh made the remark adding WFP workers in Bangladesh are partners in this achievement, reports Daily Bangladesh.
 He also said that the pace of long-term development plans and the impact on the economy would not be easy to overcome.
 Mentioning that Bangladesh is self-sufficient in food, Richard Ragan said even during COVID-19 period, the government provided food countrywide which is incomparable. But it will take time for the economy to recover.  He said that although the death rate in Bangladesh during Coronavirus was less than other countries, about 2 to 3 crore people have gone below the poverty line during this period.
“Rohingyas are totally dependent on us. Our staffs are trying our best to meet all their demands now. Besides, we are taking care that the locals are not deprived”, added Richard.
