Directly speaking, BNP will not participate in any election leaving Sheikh Hasina in the present format of the government. This is because she could not have given the slightest evidence of neutrality. We have expectations from EC about e-voting. The Election Commission has the full power of e-voting. Awami League has a bad intention behind e-voting. This is because, since 1972 whenever Awami League came to power to rule the country, they always tried to fool the common people. The people of this country are still not accustomed with e-voting. They do not even know the rules and regulations properly. Awami League plans to rig the election in a new style. A few days ago, we saw in India that the voters who voted through EVM system pressed a symbol but instead, another symbol was added. This news has been published in the media of Bangladesh with pictures. In Bangladesh, without identification anyone casts vote here and the voting process ends abruptly like the T-Twenty cricket match. The ballot box is inserted with ‘Nouka’ symbol all night long just like the day night cricket match and the results are announced in the afternoon. EVM is a much more difficult method. The Awami League wants to go forward with this method and make their power more lasting by fooling the voters by making a fraud election. As a result, we are completely against the EVM. After campaigning and creating public awareness about EVM and after getting opinions from the experts about the machine then we can go forward with EVM.
