Major Commander of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission (Minsuma), in Mali, received a courtesy with Major General Jean Paul Dikonink of Army Headquarters, with Chief of Staff General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Huq. During the meeting on Sunday, they discussed the activities, training and professional issues of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in Mali, besides mutual exchange of merchandise. On Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this information.The UN Commander-in-Charge Force Commander meets with the army. The ISPR also said that a two-member delegation led by Major General J. Paul Dikonink arrived in Dhaka on 30 September, with the death of three Bangladeshi peacekeepers in Mali. Brigadier General Kazi Shamsul Islam, Director of Overseas Operations (DOO) of the army, welcomed him.On the same day, the janazah of 3 peacekeepers of 13 people killed in the cantonment was held in Mali. Chief of Army Staff General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Haque, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed, Chief of Acting Air Staff Moshiuzzaman Seranat and senior officials of the Dhaka Cantonment and all the rankers were present.
