The food fair organized on the occasion of World Food Day 2017 has ended.
The three-day food fair ended in the capital’s Khamarbari. The Ministry of Agriculture organized the fair on the occasion of World Food Day. The fair was held in A Ka Mu Gias Uddin Milki auditorium premises from 16th to 18th October. There were 57 government and non-government supervised stalls. Additional Secretary (PPC) of the Ministry of Agriculture Mohammad Nazmul Islam presented the award as the chief guest and handed the prizes to the participating organizations. The Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) has got the first position in the fair by displaying various models of modern agricultural technology, hybrids and high yielding seeds and varies fruits and vegetables. Department of Agriculture Extension was second and Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARC) got third position. Other organizations participating in the fair were also awarded Honorable Memorandum. Chief guest Mohammad Nazmul Islam said, in near future food fair will be arranged in greater detail. The Ministry of Agriculture will always cooperate so that more organizations can show their technology by participating in the fair. The function addressed Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council Executive Chairman Dr. Bhaggo Rani Bonik and Extented Director General of Department of Agriculture Md. Golam Maruf was present as special guest of the fair under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture (Expansion) Mosharraf Hossain. Director of Horticulture Wing Mizanur Rahman gave welcome speech of the ceremony. Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader MP inaugurated the food fair as the chief guest on 16th October, 2011. The seminar was organized on the theme of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh Auditorium on the occasion of this day. Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, MP, was the chief speaker of the seminar under the chairmanship of Senior Secretary of Agriculture Ministry Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah. Honorable President of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Agriculture and FAO Bangladesh Acting Representative David W. Dolan was the respected guest. –Press Release
