Street Child Banking was initiated for encouraging the working & street-children into saving their money. Unfortunately, in past 2 years, the system were unable to represent any remarkable outcome. Only 3 books were opened in first 3 months of this year. Only 3, 675 accounts were opened in 17 commercial banks, since April of 2015.
Including all the public banks, many commercial banks became interested and listed for providing such cheap street-child accounts. The accounts can be opened at 10 taka only. Even 16 NGOs are campaigning & working on helping as many street-child as possible. In order to bring them into the habit of financial saving and taking control over their future.
