The final annual sports and cultural competition-2023 was held for people of all ages on the ground of Pyarapur High School under Boali union of Sadarupazila in the district yesterday amid much enthusiasm and festivity to the concerned, reports press release.
SKS Foundation, a reputed non-government organization, arranged the competition under Sammriddhi Program (Enriched Program ) funded by Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation-PKSF. A discussion meeting and prize distribution ceremony was also held on the school premises in the afternoon.
Local union parishad (UP) chairmanShahidul Islam Sabu attended the function as the chief guest and former UP chairman AM Mazed Uddin Khan was present as the special guest. Presided over by Rostam Ali Mondal, head teacher of the school, the ceremony was also addressed among others by zonal manager of SKS Foundation Mominur Rahman and project coordinator Musfikur Rahman Faruk. UP chairmanShahidul Islam in his speeches described the health benefits of sports and thanked the foundation for arranging such the function for the common people of the union under the project. Later, the guests formally distributed prizes to the winners.
Besides, 5 senior citizens of the union and same number of persons who have been established successfully in the society were given award under the program . A large number of people, local elite, invited guests; public representatives including journalists attended the ceremony. Mentionable that SKS Foundation has been implementing the projectin the union since 2018 aimed to eradicate poverty of the poor through changing their socio-economic condition side by side with conducting entertainment activities among all section of people from junior to the senior, sources said.
