DOT Desk: Satkhira District Awami League leaders on Saturday visited the family of Asif Hasan, killed during the quota reform movement in Uttara, Dhaka on July 18, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The leaders paid respects at Asif’s grave and spoke with family members. Seeing the Awami League leaders, Asif’s mother and grandmother, along with other family members, broke down in tears. Earlier, Asif’s father Mahmud Alam Gazi, his brother, and his uncle had left for Dhaka to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Satkhira District Awami League General Secretary and Satkhira Zila Parishad Chairman Nazrul Islam, and among others were present at that time. On July 18, a clash occurred between law enforcement and students involved in the quota reform movement in Uttara, Dhaka. During this incident, Asif Hasan was killed by gunfire. He was a second-year undergraduate student in the English department at Northern University and a former activist of the Bangladesh Chhatra League from Askarpur village.
