To establish a humane society free of communalism, militancy and corruption, a citizen platform has announced countrywide programme from November 9. As part of the campaign, the first council will be held in Barisal. The similar programme will be organized in all divisional town consecutively. The series of the events will culminate through a national council to be held in Institute of Engineers in the capital on December 29. The platformed, named as Sammilita Samajik Andolan, held a press conference in the national press club yesterday morning. In the press conference, Dr, Sarwar Ali, trustee of liberation war museum, read out a written speech. He said the goal of liberation war was to ensure a state and a society where people of all religions can live equal rights. But now we see alarming rise of communalism and hate. also militancy has recently spread all over the world, which affected Bangladesh too. The religious fanatics are impeding development of women. They as well as children are increasing falling victims of violent crimes. Add to that, Bangladesh has fallen in the further risk of militancy due to the latest Rohingya crisis. The crises have been aggravated by the lack of accountability in politics and its confrontational nature and intolerance.
