Abrar Hussain: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called for more rules and regulations in online media to reduce cyber crime.The Prime Minister made the announcement yesterday while addressing the council of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) at the National Press Club.She urged journalists to properly publish the good activities of her government in the interest of the country.
“We don’t want mercy and favor from anyone. But we at least can demand that if we do any good work for the country, it should be published in a good manner, neither in my interest nor my party’s, but in the interest of the country.”“We are establishing flat for journalists. We made eighth wage board. We have plan for ninth wage board,” she added.“We have supplied internet service in whole country so that journalist can send news from anywhere. We have launched Bangabandhu-1 satellite successfully by which we will get internet service very easily.”The Premier went on to add, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman also was involved with journalism in his student life. So, we have family relation with journalists. We have trained 12,000 journalists in free cost.”
“We will celebrate Bangabandhu’s birth anniversary in 2020. We have taken Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 programs to turn the country into a happy and prosperous Sonar Bangla,” she said.
