Review of ADHM: A Piece of Art or Rotten fruit!

SRK, Ash & Ranbir played pivotal roles in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Ms. Shahreen Sonia
If you haven’t watched ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ yet, then please come back after watching it. Otherwise, go ahead.
And finally, I could complete watching the entire movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’! The Karan Johar flick has been creating charms by its trailer for the last one month and the regular Bollywood audiences were eagerly waiting to discover the appeal. Undoubtedly, viewers were looking forward to explore the chemistry between Aishwarya Rai & Ranbir Kapoor. And the movie unveils their chemistry without leaving it foggy. The key roles of this movie are Ayan (performed by Ranbir Kapoor) who is a single, multi-billionaire whose passion is music; Alizeh (played by Anushka Sharma), Urdu-poet ‘Saba’ (Aishwarya Rai). Besides these, there is Ali (played by Fawad Khan) who is a professional disco jokey.
What are the most fascinating about Karan Johar’s film? Definitively, the redefined romance, melodious music, eye-catching choreography, fabulous costumes, beautiful sights from Europe or America. To me, there is something more….the sudden appearance of Rani Mukherjee, or Kajal. In this cinema, there is a cherry on top! You guess who it is. It cannot be anyone else rather than Bollywood Baadshad, King Khan.
However, I am just angry on myself for wasting the whole 2 hours, 28 minutes & 29 seconds on this movie. It is nothing but boring; something that does not define any culture, any lifestyle. Utterly wondering on – how Karan Johar (one of my favorite film-directors, anchors) can create such a flick?!? The man who made Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Name Is Khan, or even invested money in Wake Up Sid…how could come up with such a worst motion picture?!?! As I have already said, one of the key characters of this film is played by Ranbir Kapoor, who is a ‘private jet’ rich. Ranbir and Anushka don’t need to be worried about a job in this cinema because their comfy lifestyle is backed by their parents, who were never shown up throughout the motion picture. Throughout the film, Ranbir looked alike ‘ladies’…as he is always. Specially, when he made his scenes beside Fawad Khan, it was more visible.
Alizeh wants a friend who is not physically attracted to her because she wants to keep friendship and love separate. Alizeh thinks- Mohammad Rafi is a singer who cries more and sings less. This is quite insane to me who am a big fan of Mohammad Rafi. He was a legendary singer and was someone who broke the time dimension of music. However, I have already got information that Rafi’s son Shahid had already demanded an apology from Karan Johar.
At 1 hour & 34th minute of the film, when Shahrukh Khan appeared, coincidentally & off-course unfortunately, same at that moment, my mobile phone rang; it was a call from abroad. I was in dilemma for a while – whether to pick up the phone, or simply go ahead. Finally, I interrupted the screen & received phone and in a while, I came back to the track. I heard it earlier that SRK would be seen in this movie and it would be a guest appearance by him. So, from the very beginning of this cinema, I was waiting to see his role. And finally SRK appeared as Tahir Taliyar Khan…a divorced, middle aged man who is an artist as well.
One thing I must admit…Aishwarya Rai, once again proved her a superstar…who is compatible to characterize different kinds of role. Definitely she was the main attraction of this movie and she did not fail to uphold that charisma.
Urdu is a fading language in India. Many Urdu poets have been suffered from poor lives because they failed to sell what they wrote. They should have met Aishwarya Rai ! Ash plays an Urdu poet who has just published a book of Urdu poems, in Vienna. But sad to say that ‘Saba’ or ‘Shayra’ does not reflect any respectable lady rather a slut! I am damn sure – Karan Johar created ‘Shayra’ utterly thinking of Ash. Because there is no one who could come up in that seductive way like Ash. So for obvious reason, Ash deserves ‘A Grade’ in portraying the role. It is evidenced that KJo made sufficient investment in Ash’s make-up, get-up. And she appeared as gorgeous as she is always.
Finally, I can conclude saying — ADHM is a rotten film having no plot, no story that wasted my costly time.
