The parliamentary sub-committee has announced an initiative to publish a partial list of Razakars before the next Victory Day. To this end, the sub-committee of the parliamentary committee on the Ministry of Liberation War has already started work. “We have already started work,” said Shahjahan Khan, chairman of the committee and convener of the subcommittee, after a meeting of the parliamentary committee at the parliament building yesterday (September 26th), reports Bangla Tribune. “I will have a meeting in 8-10 days. Some lists we have collected. I hope to publish the partial list by December 16. We will publish the full list in phases”, he added. Earlier on August 9, a parliamentary committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs formed a six-member sub-committee to compile a list of Razakars. The government canceled the controversial list of Razakar last year after receiving information from the home ministry. In January this year, Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque had to face criticism in Parliament. The members of the ruling party themselves were critical of the minister. After withdrawing the list, the then minister also said that a new list would be made. After the formation of the sub-committee, convener Shahjahan Khan said that they would work with the members of parliament who are freedom fighters and children of freedom fighters.
The information will be taken from the wartime commander and the freedom fighter parliament command at the upazila level.
