Rape: A Curse
Sakib Khondoker
We live in the 21st century. A time when technology has flourished, smart phones got smarter and De Villiers scores tons at 30 odd balls. A time when Hijab is not only a piece of cloth for women to conceal themselves but also a category for fashion shows. We live in the time of modernism. In this age and time, anything and everything is possible, we believe. Anything.
But with this modernism, where has the society come to? Is it improving? Flourishing?
Maybe. Maybe our economy has progressed, our culture has strengthened. But one thing which hasn’t. Our mentality. Why?
‘Rape’.
This is the most heinous form of crime existing in the present society. This act of some sexually stimulated denizens who unfortunately breathe on this great land deserves the highest form of punishment. Let me tell you about the rights of a citizen of a sovereign state. One of which is ‘freedom of speech’. I invoke that right to address each and every person who has committed or even thought of the act of rape. Wank off. Seriously. You probably don’t know what this word means. Because apparently, the only thing you’re good at is having a boner. So, look it up. Then, do it. After you’ve finished, you’re probably more than exhausted because you’re only a pathetic excuse of a man. Then do it again, if that’s even possible for you. But please, don’t lower yourself to the society and to Almighty by committing rape.
Then there are those who can bet their lives that the only reason for rape is the way a girl dresses. They are in no way less derailed than a rapist. Let us take a step back and ask ourselves. Where we are going. Where our mentality lies. We’ll get our answers.
Remember, if our mothers were raped and not have a habitable environment to live, breathe, and love, we would probably never have been born.
