Abrar Hussain: A Dhaka court yesterday set June 10 as the date for submitting the probe report over the college student Rajib’s death case. Rajib had unfortunately lost his right hand after being sandwiched between two buses in the capital.Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Golam Nabi fixed the new date because the investigation officer and Shahbagh police station sub-inspector, Altaf Ali, failed to submit the report yesterday.The two accused of the case are BRTC bus driver Wahid, 35 and Sajan Paribahan bus driver Khorshed, 50. On April 5, the court had placed both of them in a two-day remand and they were later sent to prison on April 8.On April 3, Rajib, a third-year student of Government Titumir College, lost his right hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses trying to overtake each other in the capital’s Bangla Motor area. A day later, police detained the two accused.Unfortunately, Rajib succumbed to his injuries on April 17 while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).On May 8, the High Court bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque directed the BRTC and Swajan Paribahan authorities to provide compensation to Rajib’s familiy with Tk 1 crore.
