Md. Ali Raj: To make skilled manpower and fight the challenge of cardiovascular disease in Bangladesh, the experts at a roundtable laid emphasis on raising awareness among both public and physicians. Yesterday, a Bengali daily “Kaler Kantho” and pharmaceutical company Oriental Pharma jointly organized the event at East West Media Group Ltd (EWMGL) conference room at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital. While Kaler Kantho Executive Editor Mostafa Kamal delivered speech of welcome at the programme, editor of the daily Kaler Kantho Imdadul Haq Milon, also a prominent litterateur has presided over the programme.
National Professor Abdul Malek urged the government to introduce health insurance for general people to ensure health services for all and to save the people particularly poor ones from death caused by deadly diseases while speaking on the occasion. To save them from the hypertensive heart disease, he told that the government should provide anti-hypertensive drugs for the country’s poor people.
Abdul Malik, also president of National Executive Council of National Heart Foundation told in his speech that, easy loan should be initiated by the government or private sector for cardiovascular patients, so that anyone can get the loan easily within a short time for bearing the cost of medical treatment for the heart disease.
