The public hospitals all over the country provided free medical services to patients as part of their initiatives to pay homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman coinciding with his 97th birth anniversary.
“The free treatment was provided to the patients from 8am to 5pm today,” a health ministry spokesman told BSS. Simultaneously, he said, the hospitals were also offered improved diets like Polau, chicken roasts and egg curries to the patients admitted in the facilities.
“Around 216 patients received free medical services at the outdoor of the hospital … the patients were distributed improved diets at noon”, said Dr M Jahangir Alam, Associate Professor of National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR).
