 Dhaka WASA Managing Director (MD) Taksim A Khan said, “We started work to build a digital WASA in 2009-10. In 10 years we have come a long way. Our production is 260 to 265 cryore liters per day, which is more than the demand,” reports banglanews24.com.  He made the remarks at an view exchange program with reporters on the achievements and future plans of Dhaka WASA in the last 10 years at Buriganga Hall of WASA Bhaban in Karwanbazar yesterday.  Taksim A Khan said, “I have been able to reduce the system loss from 40 percent to 20 percent. We are building a network distribution idea or DMA.
By December 2022, the whole of Dhaka will come under DMA. There is no such network in South Asia.”
WASA MD said, “We have been able to bring about 70 percent of the slum areas of Dhaka city under legal water. I want to make it 100 percent.”
Referring to digitalisation, he said, “We have done and will continue to do digital WASA, smart water management. You have to go to the house and see the meter in the house. We are trying to digitalise it. So that I get the meter reading through the web. Then this will be the first digital meter reading system in South Asia.”
