Probe into road crash in Gaibandha

Sofian Khan: A probe body of 11 members has been formed to investigate into Saturday’s road crash in Gaibandha which killed 18 people and 28 others also injured. Additional secretary (estate) Road Transport and Highways Division Shishir Kumar Roy will lead the probe body. According to a circulation of the division yesterday. he has been directed to submit a report within the next seven working days.
The body is comprised of deputy commissioner (DC) of Gaibandha, deputy inspector general of police (highway), representatives of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), representatives of bus owners and workers, it also added.
The investigators will try to dig out what caused the accident, trace out those responsible for it and suggest preventive measures to avert the recurrence of such accidents.
