A three-day ‘PRAN ChiniguraRice NabannaUtsab’will kick off atRabindraSarobar in Dhaka on Thursday. The festival will remain open for all from 8am to 8pm every day. The information regarding the program was disclosed at a press conference held on Tuesday at a hotel in the city. Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad, Chief Operating Officer at Banga Millers Limited,said “We are losing many traditional festivals from our culture in the course of time. PRAN Chinigura Riceis sponsoring the NabannaUtsab in a bid to seeping the traditional celebrations into the urban sphere.”A total of 30 stalls will display various types of traditional cakes at the festival.The program will also include traditional music, dance, puppet show, merry-go-round, reciting punthi, bioscope, palki, lathikhela and monkey-dance show.Popular singers includingIndra Mohan Rajbobgshi, ChistyBaul, Fakir Sahabuddin, Abu BakarSiddique, Lily islam, Anima Roy and FerdousiKakoliwill perform at the NabannaUtsab. Mustafizur Rahman, Category Manager of Banga Millers Ltd,Maksud Rahman, Category Manager of PRAN Dairy Ltd,Adil Khan, Head of Operations of Xpedev and Monjurul Islam, Coordinator of Scholars Bangladesh Foundation, were present at the press conference.
