Police Constables living miserably

If one goes to duty, the other one sleeps. If one returns untimely from duty then he has to wait to rest until the other colleague wakes up from sleep.
Inhuman images of the lives of the police constables were seen after visiting the barracks in Dhaka. Every year, the problem of lack of accommodation is seen with the increase in numbers of the police members. However, policy makers have taken steps to solve the problem.
Rows of beds jam the big hall rooms where 2-3 members of the police share the same bed and take turns to sleep in and those who do not get a bed to rest, sleep on the floor.
A constable said that the environment of the barracks is so bad that healthy people will become ill within a few days if they live there.Countrywide, there are 1 lakh 94 thousand 283 police members. 40 thousand 906 posts have been created to recruit a new work force of 50 thousand by the present government. The housing problem has been made more evident due to the creation of the jobs.
Regardless, the Police Headquarters have said that 12 barracks are being constructed in every unit for the police members. 43 districts are undergoing construction works for housing of female polices. 9 high-rise residential building in Dhaka metropolitan area and more 9 buildings are on process of construction in different parts of the country. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “The new police stations which are being constructed are of high standard. Polices will not be faced with any inconvenience after the police stations are made”.
Police Inspector General AKM Shahidul Haque said, “Polices have housing problems but there is no space to build barracks”. Police members think that it is equally important to provide facilities, as it is to increase the police work force.
