[2] Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the contribution of Fazlul Haque Montu, President of Jatiya Sramik League and heroic freedom fighter in establishing the rights of working people and the great war of liberation will be remembered forever. [3] She made the remarks in a condolence message yesterday (November 20th). The Prime Minister prayed for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members. [4] Montu, president of the Labor League, died at a hospital in the capital around 4am yesterday. He was 61 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter and numerous relatives, colleagues, admirers and well-wishers. [5] On November 9 last year, Fazlul Haque Montu was made the president of the central council of the Sramik League, a sister organization of the Awami League.
Montu is a well-known name in the politics of the Labor League. He was the acting chairman of the previous committee. He has previously served as the Central General Secretary of the Sramik League and the President of the Pabna District Sramik League.

Fazlul Haque Montu, who has been involved in trade union politics for 45 years, was in charge of Pabna District Chhatra League in 1989-80. In the war of independence of 1971, he was the chief of Pabna district Mujib Bahini.
