DOT Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the authorities to release the general students arrested during the quota reform movement. She also assured that all murders committed during the movement would be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with the central leaders of the Professional Coordination Council at Ganabhaban on Saturday.
Regarding Abu Sayeed, a Begum Rokeya University student who was shot and killed during the quota reform protest in front of his university on July 16, the prime minister informed the council about disciplinary action taken against the policeman involved his killing. The officer has been suspended, and further action will be taken pending the outcome of the investigation.
