Arafat Hasan: Bang-ladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member Khandadker Mosharraf Hossain has claimed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has criticized BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s recent visit to the United Nations headquarters in New York out of ‘frustration’.
Mosharraf, while addressing a news briefing at BNP’s central office yesterday, said the party’s secretary general went to the UN and the US state department in Washington, reported the daily New Age.
“Definitely, it in any way has hurt the prime minister and frustrated her. So, she is making such statements,” Mosharraf said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had said that BNP was not invited by the UN and they (BNP leaders) went there on their own, terming BNP as the ‘champion of falsehood’.
On Wednesday Fakhrul left Dhaka for New York and met senior officials of the UN on Thursday.
