Passport is a must for travelling abroad. Also, bribing the Police for the verification is becoming another requirement and culture. Without 1000 to 4000 taka bribe, the designated police official refuses to let anyone have their reports. Since, authority bears the power to revoke any passport and its processing upon the police report. Complains rose that, such corruption among these officials have gone to extreme level. That pose as hassle for the general public and also as great threat of security.
Criminals and terrorists this tradition to go in hideway abroad, whenever they need it, warns security experts. Since, the bribe matters way more than true justification of the work among few of this police culprits. While confronted, these police officials give made-up excuses about office payment etc. Even though, all the required papers and bank drafts had been given by the passport seeker as per actual rules.
This ill-conduct attracted focus of the ministry and they will be taking lawful actions against such corrupt police. As well as, they are looking for alternative and solutions to totally avoid such transaction. The administration will be shifting the SB clearance online soon, informs the State Minister.
