Pahela Baishakh and the Bengali triumph
Md. Taqi Yasir
We are celebrating the Bengali New Year aka Pahela Baishakh 1423 today, which is a triumph of the Bengali nation. This Pahela Baishakh helps us to put up with a completely separate individuality which makes us unique not only in traditional aspects but also from individual aristocracy. As the year draws to a close, Bengalis crowd to the bookstall to book a replica of Panjika, the Bengali almanac.
The customary food of the day is Hilsha and Panta Bhaat. Also dried rice along with sweet curd and banana is a famous culinary dish of the day. This is known as Doi-Chira in Bengali.
The denouement or the resolution of the event must be very much to the point. The rape cases, the murders and all the black foils must be turned off in the New Year as a resolution of critical justice. A beautiful Bangladesh is estimated and a project to held it up must be set with all kinds of possible sitemaps.
A procession named as Mangal Shobhajatra starts from Department of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, which symbolizes the deletion of all kinds of obscurity and terrorism from our country and a meticulous people’s attire. The traders or shop-owners of our country opened an account of Haal Khata which is a customary tradition to open a new account book. This is a propitious day to open the ledger.
The Pahela Baishakh 1423 or Bengali New Year’s Day is a new form of gesture that embodies all kinds of blessings and that rejects all catastrophes. The New Year’s resolutions are always quite striking, and as a result of this, the motion is somewhat to remove all the blights and bothers.
The day is followed by Chaitra Shankranti 1422 which was celebrated yesterday night with numerous festivities and occasions. We celebrate this day as a standpoint of year ending and accepting a new year with a blissful spirit.
