Ashim Roy (Ashwini), Bandarban Correspondent:
The executive engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Md. Zillur Rahman conducted a ground inspection of various developmental works in the 7 upazilas of Bandarban district, and about 8 km between the Alikadam-Naikhyongchari road remained inaccessible. Part developmentAlignment surveys are done by my own drone.
The easiest, safest and most sustainable alignment connectivity in remote hill towns is a challenging issue.
Usually the neighborhood footpath is considered as a possible route first. 12 km of Alikadam section connecting Alikadam-Naikshyongchari upazila is already in final stage of paving.
21 km out of 27 km of Naikshyongchari section has already been paved. If the middle 7/8 km is paved, this road of Cox’s Bazar-Naikxyongchari-Alikdam LGED will be very important and tourist attractive route.
The road will be connected through the mountain tops of some 2000 feet and some 2800 feet. LGED is working tirelessly to improve the quality of life of the remote and marginalized people and to develop tourism by giving the highest importance to the mountain environment.
