On the occasion of International Nurses Day on 12 May (Saturday), a rally and conference themed on “Nurse, a strong leadership voice in health care” held at the seminar hall of Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) Mitford Hospital, arranged by the members of Bangladesh Nurses’ Association (BNA), Mitford Hospital branch in the capital. The rally was inaugurated by Deputy Director Dr Nirmal Chandra Das at 8am in the morning by flying balloons; the conference took place at 11am. The program was presided over by Zarina Khatun, President of Bangladesh Nurses’ Association Mitford Hospital branch. She discussed and presented a video presentation on the main theme of International Nurses Day. Director Brig. Gen. Brian Bankim Haldar was present as the chief guest while Deputy Director Dr Nirmal Chandra Das and Co-director Dr. Abdur Rashid were present as special guests. General Secretary of BNA Mahmuda Pervin, nursing teachers and others took part in the discussion.
