The number of Bangladeshi students in the United States has increased by 4.9 percent during the last school year.
According to 2018 Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange, a total of 7,496 students have been admitted to different educational institutions in the US, reports UNB.
Bangladesh has been ranked 24th in the world for countries sending students to the United States for higher education and ranks tenth in the world, said the US Embassy here yesterday.
The number of Bangladeshi students studying in the United States has increased by 58.4 percent over the past six years.
For the past three years, US colleges and universities hosted more than one million international students, reaching a record high of 1.09 million this school year.
It also marks the twelfth consecutive year of continued expansion of the total number of international students in US higher education.
In Bangladesh, Education USA advising services and reference materials are available at locations across the country, including the American Center at US Embassy in Dhaka, located in Baridhara, Edward M Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts located in Dhanmondi, and American Corner in Chittagong.
Education USA reference libraries and remote advising are accessible at American Corners in Sylhet, Khulna, and Rajshahi.
