Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal argued about the lack of information about country’s total swamp lands. He argues this in a press briefing after Ecnec meeting on Tuesday.
The Minister told the reporters, “This riverine country has lots of marshy lands. But due to lack of information about these lands, we could not take any shorts of projects.”
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved a project to utilize these marshy lands. The development project was approved with an outlay of Taka 54.41 crore.
Kamal also informed about the development project initiated for the Northern poverty alleviation which cost was estimated Taka 326.34 crore.
