 LGRD Minister and Convener of the Detailed Area Plan (DAP) Cabinet Committee Tajul Islam yesterday said that new buildings will be constructed in Dhaka ensuring the capital is a livable city, has all civic amenities with planned infrastructure and keeps in mind geological and environmental issues, reports Sara Bangla. While talking to reporters after a meeting of the newly formed cabinet committee for reviewing DAP at the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, the minister gave the statement, reports The Daily Star.  The local government minister said a sub-committee will be formed with all institutions including city corporations to this end.  The minister said the committee will work to build a livable and scenic city keeping in view other important issues including residential and commercial use, presence of hospital, schools and colleges and shopping malls according to a proper plan.
At the meeting, it was decided to extend the time allotted on the website for two more months to determine the height of buildings taking into account the coronavirus crisis and other issues.
Earlier on October 25, the government reconstituted the cabinet committee to detail review and finalise the DAP prepared by Rajuk.
