There are even countless laws regarding trivial matters in Bangladesh. Sadly, no law for river protection, stated law researcher Hasnat Kaium. Upon this, Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) General Secretary Abdul Matin added that, it is also giving away the opportunity to the powerful people, who force-block the authority initiations for river protection. Such statements were made at the debate-seminar for ‘River Rights: Rights on River’. Arranged by Action Aid Bangladesh, at CIRDAP auditorium on yesterday. MP Tipu Sultan shares his deep concerns about the dying of rivers in recent days. He blamed the selfish politics & illegal possessing of rivers. Many local representatives also fail to keep up their voice against such powerful occupiers.
