Citizens of Dhaka were relieved to see less hawkers on the roads before the Ramadan. But, influential hawker leaders are now making their way onto the roads and footpaths, either by force or bribery. There were hawker meetings regarding it, at Farmgate & Gulistan areas.
Viti (1 to 1.5 hand-length’s spot) being sold at high price. Some say, this is only for the Ramadan. Evacuated hawkers again marking their spaces. Food shops are taking over the footpaths in front of their place. If these hawkers and greedy business-owners take over the streets.
It will surely create an irritating situation for the citizens. Footpaths will blocked and roads will narrow down.
Pedestrians will suffer. As well as, unbearable traffic jams will occur.
