No disorderly information on UC election: EC

    There have been allegations that different panels of UC election fought between themselves and created chaos in different areas and the monitoring process is not taking place rightly. To this, the election commissioner Md. Shah Nawaz said, “If any specific accusation can be found, those will be scrutinized.”
    EC informed that 8 investigation committees have been formed consisting officials ranked deputy secretary to monitor the submission of nomination papers, total cost of the election and codes of conduct. The Deputy Secretary of Secretariat’s law department Mohsinul Haque said, “Multiple teams, other than the law enforcement team have been formed to regulate the election properly and also to monitor the upcoming UC election.”
    Several workers of EC reported that the accusations about the irregularities of the election has not been taken into due considerations by the commissioner.
    Previously, in the first phase of election, already 62 chairmen, 179 General Members and 54 conserved members were elected without any competition. On March 22, votes will be casted at 733 UCs at the first phase. The vote castings and the election poll will be conducted in overall 5 phases.
